Protecting your data.

Your privacy matters. Here's exactly how we handle your data.

By using SimpleFormat Pro, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our service.

  • Card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
  • Payment status
  • Transaction history

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected data to:

  • Provide and maintain the SimpleFormat Pro service

  • Track usage metrics for service improvement
  • Prevent service abuse (multiple accounts, automated access)
  • Process one-time payments for document formatting via Stripe

3. Document Processing & Data Retention

Ephemeral Processing - No Data Storage

When you format a document, your text is processed in real-time RAM and immediately discarded after download. We do NOT store, retain, or have any record of your document content. Each formatting request is stateless and ephemeral.

What we DO store:

  • Account information (email, hashed password)
  • Usage metrics (number of pages processed, timestamps)
  • Security data (IP addresses, device fingerprints for abuse prevention)

What we DO NOT store:

  • Document content or text
  • Generated DOCX files
  • Formatting preferences beyond current session

4. What We DON'T Do With Your Data

  • We don't sell your data to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers
  • We don't use your content to train AI models or machine learning systems
  • We don't share your documents with anyone, including staff (we don't store them)
  • We don't send marketing emails without explicit consent
  • We don't track you across other websites or use third-party analytics
  • We don't use invasive cookies beyond essential authentication

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We share limited data only with essential service providers:

5.1 Stripe (Payment Processing)

When you purchase document formatting, Stripe processes your one-time payment. Stripe receives your payment information, email, and billing details. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and maintains its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

5.2 Hosting Providers

Our service is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. These providers have access to server data but are bound by strict data processing agreements.

5.3 Legal Compliance

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request. We will notify you unless legally prohibited.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Password Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with salt (we never store plain-text passwords)
  • Authentication Tokens: JWT tokens with expiration for session management
  • Rate Limiting: Protection against brute-force attacks and abuse
  • Regular Updates: Security patches applied promptly

Disclaimer: No system is 100% secure. While we implement best practices, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication if/when available.

  • All associated data

Note: We may retain certain data for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution for up to 90 days after deletion.

7.4 Marketing Communications
