These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SimpleFormat Pro, a document formatting service operated by Anem HQ ("we," "us," "our"). The service is accessible at simpleformat.pro.

By creating an account or using SimpleFormat Pro, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SimpleFormat Pro, you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years old
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• You provide accurate and complete information when creating an account

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Service Description

SimpleFormat Pro is a document formatting service that converts text into professionally formatted Microsoft Word (.docx) documents. We provide:

• 8+ formatting standards (APA 7, MLA 9, Chicago 17, Harvard, IEEE, AMA 11, Vancouver, and KDP) - additional formats coming soon
• Your time: 5-15 minutes entering content. Our time: under 5 seconds to generate formatting after submission.
• Free preview before payment – Preview your fully formatted document in our secure viewer before paying.
• Flexible per-document pricing – From $9.99 for 25-page documents to $29.99 for 500-page manuscripts.

We are a formatting tool, not a content creation service. We do not generate, edit, or validate the content you format. You are solely responsible for the content you submit to our service.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use SimpleFormat Pro, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Consent to receive occasional promotional emails and product updates (you may unsubscribe at any time)

3.2 Account Restrictions

To prevent abuse of our service:

• One account per individual user
• Email addresses must be unique (one account per email)
• Account sharing or document redistribution is prohibited
• Automated access or bot usage is prohibited

Violation of these restrictions may result in account suspension or termination without refund.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account information.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use SimpleFormat Pro to:

• Violate any local, state, national, or international law
• Infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
• Transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
• Attempt to bypass usage limits or security measures
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our formatting algorithms
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense our service without permission
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful scripts
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate others
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access our service
• Interfere with or disrupt our servers or networks

Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate account termination, legal action, and reporting to law enforcement.

5. Content Ownership & License

5.1 Your Content & Privacy

You retain all ownership rights to the content you submit to SimpleFormat Pro. We do not claim ownership of your documents, text, or formatted output.

Privacy First: Your content is processed in memory only and never saved to our servers. After your document is generated and downloaded, submitted content is purged from our systems.

5.2 Limited License to Process

By using our service, you grant us a temporary, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Process your text for formatting purposes
• Generate DOCX files based on your input
• Transmit formatted documents to you for download

This license terminates immediately after your document is downloaded. As stated in our Privacy Policy, we do not store your content after processing.

5.3 Our Intellectual Property

SimpleFormat Pro, our logo, formatting algorithms, tag system, and all related technology are owned by Anem HQ and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our explicit written permission.

6. Pricing & Payment Terms

6.1 Pay-Per-Document Model

Try Before You Buy: Preview any document in our secure viewer before paying. No credit card required.

No subscriptions – pay only when you need formatting. Each purchase formats one document from 25 to 500 pages depending on tier.

6.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By purchasing document formatting, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the one-time fee.

You are responsible for providing accurate payment information and maintaining sufficient funds.

6.3 No Monthly Subscriptions

Unlike traditional services, we do not offer monthly subscriptions. You purchase formatting as needed. There are no recurring charges or automatic renewals.

7. Refund Policy

7.1 What Qualifies for a Refund

• Demonstrable technical errors in document generation
• Systematic formatting failures across multiple documents
• Service outages preventing use for extended periods
• Billing errors (duplicate charges, incorrect amounts)

7.2 What Does NOT Qualify

• User error in applying formatting tags
• Dissatisfaction with stylistic choices (fonts, spacing preferences)
• Incompatibility with third-party software
• Change of mind after subscription
• Unused pages or features

7.3 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us within 30 days of the charge with:

• Your account email and order details
• Description of the technical issue with evidence (screenshots, document examples)
• Allow us 5-7 business days to investigate

Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within 10 business days.

8. Account Deletion

To permanently delete your account and all associated data, contact us. Account deletion is irreversible and removes all your data within 90 days.

9. Service Availability & Uptime

We strive to maintain high service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for:

• Temporary service outages due to maintenance
• Third-party service failures (hosting providers, Stripe)
• Force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, etc.)
• Internet connectivity issues on your end
• Browser compatibility issues

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance in advance.

10. Limitation of Liability

SimpleFormat Pro is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of SimpleFormat Pro is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You are solely responsible for verifying that formatted documents meet your institution's, publisher's, or organization's requirements before submission.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Anem HQ, SimpleFormat Pro, and our affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of our service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you submit to our service

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by requesting account deletion.

12.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice or refund, if:

• You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
• You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• You abuse our free tier limits (multiple accounts, sharing, etc.)
• Your payment fails repeatedly
• We are required to do so by law

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use simpleformat pro ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

13. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Arbitration Agreement

Any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration in New Castle County, Delaware, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules.

13.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

13.4 Jurisdiction

For any disputes not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware.

13.5 International Users

If you are accessing our services from outside the United States, you agree to the transfer and processing of any disputes in accordance with these Terms and Delaware law.

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Anem HQ regarding SimpleFormat Pro.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

14.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it later.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms to any affiliate or successor without your consent.
